Kathy
Schwalbe is an educational consultant specializing
in new teacher development, teacher leadership and
virtual learning communities. Kathy’s expertise includes
training development, refinement, delivery and evaluation
processes. She provides facilitating, presenting,
consulting and coaching skill development seminars
for teachers and administrators across the United
States. Formerly a classroom teacher, program director
and founding chair of the Board Certification Network
of South Carolina Educators, Kathy is currently an
independent consultant for various education associations
and school districts.
Kathy served as a leader in the creation of the
incentives program for National Board Certification
candidates and the current Induction and Mentoring
Guidelines endorsed by the State of South Carolina.
In addition to her ongoing work as an Associate Trainer
and NBCT Faculty member, Kathy has presented at a
variety of conferences and educational symposiums,
notably the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention
and Advancement's Teacher Leaders Workshops, the
New Teacher Center Symposium, and the National Board
for Professional Teaching Standards.
