Marlene C. Honermann is a prominent educator with more than 40 years of experience in education. She presently works as an educational consultant.

Marlene has worked with students and teachers in grades K-12, focusing on the teaching and learning of thinking skills. She has taught students in both rural and urban school districts where she has served as a teacher, staff development coordinator and presenter, gifted education resource teacher, and Title I coordinator.

Honermann is a trainer of Habits of Mind and has worked as a consultant to staffs in implementing Habits of Mind in classrooms. Knowing the impact of teaching thinking skills on students' learning pushed her to develop her knowledge of Cognitive CoachingSM and her pursuit to become a trainer. For the last ten years, she has worked with teachers as their coach as well as a trainer. She has experience working with all types of learners, including parents, administrators, teachers, educational assistants and students. She has traveled to Russia and Siberia, where she worked with teachers and students in developing a thinking skills curriculum.

Honermann is the recipient of the U.S. West 1990 Outstanding Teacher of Minnesota Award and the Award of Excellence from the Minneapolis Public School District, and was named an Outstanding Woman of America. Her goal is to "make connections happen" among all people for better understanding of themselves and each other.
